Hi friends, Shall we proceed through the rest of the living room? I've been receiving so many questions about those (FAB) pink chairs that they just can't be ignored any longer. These two beauties are Roar + Rabbit and I found them at (where else) West Elm. Okay guys, West Elms has a lot of sales and a ton of stuff that I'm kind of obsessed with so I just can't stay away. Anyway, There blush chairs stole my heart for a few reasons. 1. They're blush! The love adding a feminine and romantic touch to every room. The blush softens up that black leather chesterfield sofa and they weren't too "pink" for my husband. 2. They're velvet! Ahhh, is anyone as happy about this new velvet trend as I am? Who can resist the softness, the hint of shine and the dreamy texture to deepen the decor in ... [Read More]
A look at the living room: Part 2
Well hello leather leggings
Hey everyone! Went to Target today to start my holiday shopping (Yeah, I'm on the ball this year) Literally filled my cart to the brim with this super cute holiday decor which is usually a struggle for me since I celebrate Hanukkah and we get pretty jipped in the decor department. More on what I got later... n-e-wayyyy... I was getting ready for my fun filled day of fancy Target shopping and I threw on these surprisingly comfy faux leather leggings (that sounds like such an oxymoron) with a chambray shirt. I added these classic white Chuck Taylors and it ended up being a pretty sweet little shopping outfit. I felt like it needed something extra so I paired it with this red and blue ('Merica) necklace in honor of the election (Wasn't THAT a surprise? Social media is like a war zone. ... [Read More]
Debut of the ripped jeans (finally)
Well here they are. My very favorite pair of ripped jeans. I have a bunch but Im loving on these the most at the moment. I give them and A+ for comfort, and A+ for stretch (the perfect amount) and an A+ for just the right amount of distress. Any guesses on where they're from? You'll never guess... These bad boys are from American Eagle Outfitters! (*Surprise!*) Which means that they we're super reasonably priced! Rejoice! ?? Im wearing a size 26 and they say that they're pre-shrunk, but I think mine have stretched out a bit and are now the "right" amount of slouchy. Find them here: Hi-rise distressed Jeans This AEO green shirt is a great basic staple that every closet should have. The color is great and it's soft and swingy which makes it a great choice for a day out ... [Read More]
A look at the living room: Part 1 (Bonus: How to style a comfy couch)
Our living room is arguably the least used room in the house. It's not like we ever actually use this "formal" sitting area when we have people over. But the thing about this space is that it's the first room you see when walking in the front door. It instantly gives an impression and sets "the mood" (*pops a bottle of champaign*) So even though we use it the least, it's definitely the most important! I love walking in the front door everyday because I have something beautiful there to greet me. Since this is a large room we'll break it up into sections. Im sure you don't want to read the "book" that I could write about styling this space all today. So I'll talk about the sofa and coffee table today and then we'll move through the rest of the room next time. ... [Read More]
Decorating in a camo jacket
Hey everyone! So, I'm not wearing my ripped jeans today which would've seemed fitting for my first fashion post but it's for good reason. It's 80 degrees outside and I'm soaking in this glorious weather before it cools down and I sink into my habit of ripped jeans and plaid shirts every day. It's so nice out you guys, I'm literally sitting outside and having lunch while writing this blog post. Heaven! I'm officially obsessed with this jacket. I knew I would be. It literally goes with everything. Layer it over a dress like I did here. Put it with jeans and a white t-shirt... or any t-shirt. Pair it with leggings when headed to the gym. Just sling it over your arm or on the back of your chair and it'll instantly make your outfit. Thats not even the best part! It's ... [Read More]
Designing the Courtyard
The courtyard might be one of the coolest things about this house. Besides the fact that you must walk through it in order to arrive at our (glass) front door, all the windows on the front of our home look out into this courtyard. Essentially it's the view we get to see from almost every room in our home. We immediately thought of it as a bonus room. It had to be extra beautiful! So when we first moved in it was a big empty space. A big. Empty. Brick. Space. Of course I immediately had a million ideas flying around in my head, but I had to real them in and focus on one design. Eventually I decided that since we live in the desert I was going to go with a "lush" desert theme. If thats even possible... It also needed it to be modern, yet romantic to match in inside of the home. So I ... [Read More]
