My office is finally finally complete! For whatever reason I was have having the hardest time visualizing this space into something I would be happy with. I just had a creative brain freeze for a while. One day I was standing in the doorway to this room, staring at a half finished space and all at once the ideas started to come.
My office doubles as our guest room so I needed a way to incorporate a bed. This is probably what was throwing me off to begin with. Anyway, I got this idea for a custom daybed. With a daybed I could dress it up like a “couch” when we don’t have visitors but it’s a comfy queen sized bed when it needs to be.
I called my furniture maker extraordinaire and told her my concept. I picked this bright teal velvet fabric and literally drew the design on a piece of scrap paper. Like magic she made it happen and my vision came to life. Don’t ya just love when that happens?
The wallpaper was an easy choice by Oh Joy. It’s feminine without being over the top and it actually brightens up the space. I bought this fun Palm Springs print from Etsy and had it framed by Framebridge which was the easiest framing experience ever!
I used to have this pile of stuff shoved into the corner. All of my fabric samples, wallpaper samples, various papers etc. I drove me nuts and I had to dig through it to find anything. So I ordered this lucite bar cart from All Modern. I love the way it turned out! I was able to get my bulky printer off my desk and that pile of crap organized on the shelves. I dressed up the top with some fun pictures and plants. That wine is for emergencies… you know, for those days when everything goes wrong.
The desk I actually inherited it from someone else. It’s custom and whoever had this built was clearly a genius. I love that my assistant is able to sit next to me while we work. One or both of the kids can do homework and my husband and I often have our important “financial meetings” sitting here. You know the kind 🙄
The rug! I almost forgot about the rug. This room is basically themed around this rug which if from lulu & Georgia. What can I say… it’s totally me. I like anything that will bring joy to a space. I got most of the accessories from Anthropologie, the light is West Elm and quilt is Pottery Barn.
As always, thanks for following along. Let me know if you have questions or ideas. What should I write about next?
Xoxo,
Kelly
