Hello again to my favorite squad! (If you read my blog then you’re officially in my favorite squad – Hey congrats!)
Anyway, today I’m talking about my favorite coffee table books! If you love fashion and interior design like me, well stick around while I drop some serious knowledge on you. Lets talk about what to buy to finish off your already amazing space.
Decorating with books is simple, it’ll spice up your room (any of your rooms) in a jiff. You just have to know what to buy and where to buy it….annnnd thats where I come in! Que confetti and balloon release!
Ok first things first. You must look for books that have a beautiful cover (duh) but even more importantly, they must have a beautiful spine. Books, whether they’re lying down flat, stacked tall or standing straight up are going to display the spine first. I always, always turn a book to the side and check out the spine before anything else. Look for things with color and/or pattern.
Do judge a book by it’s cover! I mean in this case only. When you’re shopping for books for display purposes then they must be beautiful! So if you need a pop of pink in the room then why not look for a bright pink book? Need some yellow to brighten up your space? Look for something with yellow.
Occasionally I will sit down with a hot cuppa joe and actually flip through a few of my favorite books. This brings me to my next point. You do actually have to be somewhat into the content of a book. If you’re going to display it around your home, then it may as well be something that intrigues you and begs for you to take a peek inside every once in a while.
So you ask… where do I shop? The answer my friends may not be as obvious as you think! Or is it? I’m going to take you through my favorite coffee table books and where I got each one. Sit back, relax and prepare to be inspired (and maybe a little surprised?)
This stack… ohhh this glorious little stack of books is a chart topper for sure. The Chanel book is actually an illusion as it is 3 books in one set. ***Confetti drops*** This is understated luxury. A pop of couture for a low low price. Learn more about the powerhouse designer and pop up your living space at the same time. Find it on Amazon here: Chanel Assouline Book
The Coveteur is my favorite…rewind…FAVORITE coffee table book! I constantly buy it as gifts for my fashionista and design loving friends. It’s stunning. It’s like a seriously stunning book. From cover to spine to inside the pages. “But Kelly” you say “The spine is so simple” and yes, sometimes a simple back and white spine is just the simplicity that a room needs. Seriously guys, take a look inside this book? Every time I open it up I am reminded of how much I love this book. It takes you an a magical journey through people closets. I mean really? Who doesn’t want to peak inside someone else’s fabulous closet? Okay okay, sales pitch over. Just go buy this. You can find it at Anthropologie here: The Coveteur
This Tom Ford book just may be the most asked about book on my Instagram account. (what’s that? You don’t follow me on Instagram? How dare you! Follow me here) Okay back to whats important. This Tom Ford book I wanted for sooo long. It’s pricy but was well worth the wait and trust me, I waited a long time to spend the big bucks on this one. This bold (and large) book is almost the center of this room and you can see why. Inside are graphic photos taking you on a journey through time. Through fashion time. I waited until I had a 15% of coupon before ordering mine. Find your own here: Tom Ford book
Elements of Style is probably my second favorite book. The interior decorator in me wants to read it everyday. There is great content in here but beyond that… It looks so damn good on my table! It’s coffee table gold if you ask me! Get it here: Elements of Style
In The Company of Women is simple… I have a daughter. I find this book inspirational. Inside are the journeys of female bosses and their success stories. Girl boss? Damn straight! Get the book here: In The Company of Women
American Fashion speaks for itself. Bold images and the journey of Americana and style. Find it here: American Fashion
For more interior design books I really love these two! Absolutely Beautiful Things is a stunning page turner of dreamy designs. Each room is more beautiful than the last and if it’s colorful inspiration that you’re looking for then you’ve found it here. The bold pink cover will add a pop to any bookshelf too! Pattern is B-E-A-Utiful! Wallpaper, fabrics, and upholstery heaven!
So there you have it my friends. As you may have gathered, I find a lot of treasures at Anthropologie. They have a wildly great book selection and if you wait for a sale day then you’ll save some real dough. Amazon is obviously going to have anything and everything that you could ever want and desire. Free shipping for Amazon Prime makes it a great option. I also find some good stuff and Barns & Noble who will send you %15 off coupons regularly if you sign up for their mailing list.
Hope you enjoyed this read and are feeling more educated in the world of decorating with books. If you have questions or suggestions for me pa-lease leave them in the comments!
Ciao guys! Happy Monday!
Xoxo,
Kelly

Wow! Thank you for sharing this. I have a friend that has a channel book on her table, I fancy and admire the book a lot each time I see the book on her picture. I have never thought about using book for a decor till after reading your post. I now understand why she has that channel book with other fancy books on her room table. I really love the concept.

Finally a decent recommendation about some good coffee table books! I am also into fashion and interior design but I suck at interior design so much lol. I have had my eyes on the Chanel stack for quite some time but haven’t gotten around to buying them yet. My living room could really do with some of these. I also had the “Elements of Style” book on my wishlist too. But now you have actually made buying these books so much easier because in additional to word of mouth I also got an insider view of each one. Thanks for sharing!! Bookmarking this!

I’m so glad Shevy! Both books are totally worth it. If you want more “insider” looks just let me know 🙂
