You guys, it’s been the best year EVER!
Honestly, I’ve really been reflecting these past few days and I’m going to go out on a limb and say that 2016 was the best yet!
Okay, so I never write down my goals (shame on me) I should definitely be writing down my goals right? Whats wrong with me? Everyone knows that! So I’m going to write down what I wish to accomplish in this next year. That way next NYE I can go back and look at my 2017 bucket list and see everything that I have accomplished. It’ll require some serious thought (am I really going to post this on my very public blog?! Eeeek! Im not sure yet) Let’s take a moment to look back on the best year of my life thus far while I ponder whether or not to write a diary post for the whole word to see. #Imcrazy
So…2016…you little beauty! Here goes:
First of all, I get to be married to this guy. I mean, how lucky am I? This was our 7th year of marriage and a pretty darn good one. Thanks for always being in my corner babe!
Second of all (but definitely not less important than the first) I get to be Mom to these munchkins! Ahhhh! I got the BEST kids you guys! Seriously, they’re happy, they’re healthy, they’re smart and they’re really freaking funny.
This was a big year! We bought a new house! Whoop! We moved out of the house that we called home for the past 7 years and that was a bit emotional, but only until I saw that THIS was my new closet! Then I forgot about that old dump right away.
This new house has been a long time comin’. We looked, and looked and looked some more for a house that we could both agree on. Let me tell you, it’s slim pickins out there. But low and behold, we found it. We’re super happy with our choice and I can’t wait to chronicle all the projects that we get accomplished in 2017.
Here’s the old place:
And here’s the new one:
In fact, it was this new house that Inspired me to start my blog! Yea, I started my blog this year. Thats a big deal right?
Okay okay I’m starting to go out of order. back on track now:
I went to Disneyland with my brothers. We didn’t brig the kids (bad mom, I know. shhhh) It was really cool to get to spend time together as adults. We all have our own lives and things going on, but taking the time to do this brought us right back together. They still cool.
I got the best blowout of my life in 2016. Case in point:
The extended Stone family took our annual trip to Newport Beach, California and rented the same 4 bedroom (on the sand) house that we always rent. This time my Dad came with us and so did my best friend with her family. If you need Newport advice hit me up.
With all the good there were some lows: I got like 37 colds this year. Ugh! Im gonna have to work on my immune system you guys. and the lowest of low was losing my beloved Bugsy. My 8 year old Yorkie should not have left us so soon. He was the cuddliest dog and I miss him dearly.
Ok, back on top! Charlie and I went to NYC solo (she says dreamily) I f*cking LOVE NYC! there is just no place like it. amIright?
We took the kids to San Diego for a BOMB vacay! If you’re looking for a great family vacation then go to the Hilton Bay Resort on Mission Bay in San Diego. That place gets my stamp of approval fo sho. We beached, we pooled, we roasted marshmallows (in our private firepit) we watched the Sea World fireworks every night! The kids loved every second. It was really one of those vacations that I’ll remember forever. The kids were awesome, happy and I really believe that they’ll remember it too. It’s stuff like this that shapes a childhood.
Oh I had a Bachelorette finale party. That was fun girls! #teamjordan
We went to Malibu for a family wedding that the kids were in. Look how cute they are!
Disneyland again! I’ll prob do a Disneyland post soon. I get a lot of questions about the best times to go, where to stay etc. Look for that if you’re interested. (subscribe and you won’t miss it *hint hint*)
We took such good family pics this year! It’s a miracle (no, literally it is) with 2 threenagers that’s hard to do.
I wore a bunch of great outfits this year. Including all of these:
We all got everything we wanted for Hanukkah (well, I still want more, but who doesn’t)
Over all, we’re pretty freaking lucky! We traveled, we accomplished, we’re raising bright and smart little people and now we look into the new year to make it even better.
So, what are my goals for 2017?
1. Lose some Lbs (God I’m sooo cliche) I’m a pilates teacher for crying out loud! I should be able to do this fairly easily. Lets say 10. 10 pounds. OK, I wrote it down, now it has to happen!
2. Grow my blog! So keep reading! Keep reading and tell everyone you know!
3. Go somewhere tropical (TWICE)
4. Go to Aspen (I want to take Charlie white water rafting. He’s been talking about it for years)
5. Make more. Save more
6. Stay healthy (and that goes for all of us)
7. Have another baby ….Just kidding! We’re done. Like done, done.
8. Take the kids to NYC
9. Continue to make the kids my #1 priority
10. Stay HAPPY!
Peace, love and Happy New Year to you all! Let’s make 2017 even better!
Xoxo
